The P4P Forum held in Hedland in July 2016 brought together around 30 participants from the For Purpose sector, local Government, the State Government Regional Services Reform Unit and the Western Australian Council of Social Services.
The Youth Involvement Council, Mission Australia and Bloodwood Tree Association showcased their achievements and challenges, particularly around collaboration and identification of partnership opportunities.
The Regional Services Reform Unit facilitated discussion around how to strengthen capacity in the For Purpose sector whilst reducing duplication and unnecessary competition so the sector can better respond to local needs. The need to identify place based community needs and develop appropriate collaborative solutions was highlighted as a priority.
WACOSS presented highlights from their conference “Stronger Together” and demonstrated some of their collaboration tools developed to assist the sector.
