SUMMARY:Beyond Cultural Competency to Behaviour Change – 2-day workshop
DESCRIPTION:Pilbara For Purpose is pleased to support the delivery of a two day ‘Beyond Cultural Competency to Behaviour Change’ workshop by Dr Tracy Westerman AM, to the community service sector. Staff working for Not-For-Profits or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in the City of Karratha are invited to register their attendance for the in-person two day workshop in July 2025.\nAbout the training:\nIndigenous Psychological Services (IPS) has been at the forefront of research, development and delivery of cultural competency intervention programs CCIPs since 1998. This work has focused on co-designing tools that aimed to define the necessary skills, abilities and aptitudes that predict cultural competence and using this information to design training programs to ensure that skills that are most relevant to working effectively with Aboriginal people are targeted. This training program also focuses on the practical development of skills specific to retaining Aboriginal people in the workplace.\nParticipants complete a unique assessment tool the General Cultural Competency Profile GCCP to gauge their cultural competencies at training commencement. The GCCP provides each participant with a personal feedback report which allows them to continually improve their skills. This training has evidence of improving the cultural competencies of participants at training conclusion.\nDr Westerman stands as an industry leader in this complex application of training and intervention in a way that has demonstrated measurable impacts on her participants.\nTO REGISTER: click HERE ( https://events.humanitix.com/beyond-cultural-competency-to-behaviour-change-2-day-workshop )\nCost:\n$150 per person (incl GST)\n$100 for P4P members (incl GST)\nThis course generally costs $3700 (incl GST) per person.\nThis heavily discounted training has been made possible thanks to the generous support of WOODSIDE ENERGY through their Anniversary Grant.\nImportant, please note:\n\nYou must work within the City of Karratha to attend this training.\nYou must work for a NFP or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.\nPilbara For Purpose members receive a $50 discount on tickets.
