Pilbara organistions and individuals shine at the second Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards

The second Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards saw over 75 nominations across 13 award categories. Nominations were received from organisations, large and small, as well as dedicated inviduals from right across the Pilbara. 830 votes were received for the People’s Choice Award demonstrating community support ad appreciation for our amazing community services sector.

We would like to congratulate every organisation and individual who took the time to nominate for the awards. Judging was extremely difficult with judges commenting how inspiring it was to read the story of each  nominee.

And the winners of the Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards for 2019 are:

  • Most Outstanding Large Organisation – Youth Involvement Council Inc
  • Outstanding Commitment to Place Based Services – Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation
  • Outstanding Demonstration of Innovation in Collaboration – Hope Community Services
  • Aboriginal Corporation/Organisation: Outstanding Demonstration of Best Practice in Member Support and Development – Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa Aboriginal Corporation
  • Best Pilbara Organisation – VSwans
  • Outstanding Demonstration of Leadership: Organisation – Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation
  • Excellence in Improving Health and Wellbeing of Individuals and Families in the Pilbara – Hedland Well Women’s Centre
  • Outstanding Demonstration of Leadership: Young Person – Rowan Dann
  • Outstanding Demonstration of Leadership: Individual – Sandra Spadanuda
  • Outstanding Individual Contribution to Youth Wellbeing – Jessica Rennie
  • Volunteer of the Year – Tracey Lee Garbin
  • People’s Choice Award – Pilbara Community Services Ltd
