
Boundaries, Burnout and Self Care – CAWA West Pilbara Training
Pilbara For Purpose and WA Council of Social Service are pleased to support the delivery of Boundaries, Burnout & Self Care training by CAWA, to the community service sector. Staff working for not-for-profits or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in the West Pilbara are invited to register their attendance for the ONLINE training in September.

About the training:
The world forces us to navigate fast-paced, challenging, and high-stress environments. This workshop is a great chance to slow down, connect with others in the community sector and have some fun, while developing valuable skills and knowledge of practical resources. Gain new insights and learn meaningful tools to support your own wellbeing, both personally, and to use within your work. This course is a must have for anyone who works or volunteers in a space that impacts their wellbeing.
Topics include:
- The impact of life in personal, peer, community, and professional contexts
- What is Mental Health?
- How to identify and respond to stress and burnout
- Navigating boundaries
- Vicarious/secondary trauma
- Supporting yourself and others
- Trauma informed communication
- Mindfulness & micro skills
- Self-care and how to use it to increase your resilience
- Community care and how can it help you support yourself and others

Important, please note:
- You must work within the West Pilbara (City of Karratha and Shire of Ashburton) to attend this training. This includes Karratha, Dampier, Wickham, Roebourne, Point Samson, Onslow, Pannawonica, Paraburdoo, Tom Price and the surrounding Indigenous communities. If you are not based in the West Pilbara, please feel free to email rose@wacoss.org.au to register your interest for other Pilbara training.
