Opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the EPIS team in Newman

EPIS Inc. (East Pilbara Independence Support Incorporated) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. The position can be Part-time 8-30am-2pm (School Hours) or Full-Time.

EPIS is a leading provider in quality Aged Care and Respite Services in the Inland Pilbara and Western Desert. EPIS provides person-centred care by delivering services based upon understanding and assisting clients to live and achieve an appropriate degree of independence according to their own abilities, specific needs, and family and community support.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care for EPIS clients from the Newman Day Centre and Respite Houses. Leading a small team, the Registered Nurse (RN) is required to deliver quality services that complies with and achieves clinical requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards and the Silver Chain Nursing Standards.

The RN provides support to multidisciplinary teams across the organisation inclusive of the provision of best practice clinical standards through the delivery of a culturally appropriate, client-focused service that promotes the health, safety and well-being of clients. In addition, the RN provides clinical supervision and preceptorship to junior registered nurses, enrolled nurses, assistants in nursing and support workers. Some travel maybe required.

YOUR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE WILL BE ASSURED BY HAVING:

  • Evidenced APRHA registration in the category of Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in the assessment and treatment of clients who are frail aged, people with disabilities and people who have long-term medical conditions.
  • Excellent understanding of the life challenges and barriers for Indigenous Australians.
  • Experience in working with Indigenous peoples in a community setting.
  • Good level of clinical problem-solving skills including conceptual and analytical ability.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislative and health regulating Acts including legislative obligations.
  • Ability to participate in implementing clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated resilience along with the ability to work under pressure, to prioritise work and to meet strict deadlines whilst producing work of a high standard first time every time.
  • Excellent computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and electronic Patient Management Systems.
  • Possess a current WA Drivers Licence along with the ability to participate in on-call and after-hours roster (as required).
  • Experience in the Aged Care Sector and / or Not-for-Profit environment (Desirable).
