Nominations OPEN for the 2023 Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards

The Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards are back for 2023 and nominations are now OPEN, closing on 16th June 2023.

With thirteen categories to choose from, both individual and organisation categories, there is something for everyone. This year the Awards continue to celebrate the resilience, creativity, collaboration and leadership demonstrated by our amazing sector despite many challenges.

Our theme for 2023 is “Celebrating our Pilbara Stars”, with a focus on acknowledging and celebrating Pilbara organisations and individuals who have gone above and beyond to: DREAM, ENGAGE, OVERCOME and INSPIRE.

Now is the time to nominate an amazing organisation or individual for the 2023 Awards. Don’t miss out, get your nominations in as soon as possible.

Tailored online briefing on IR laws – 9th Feb, 12pm

P4P has organised for CCIWA to deliver an online briefing on the new IR laws tailored to our community services sector. This will be held on Thursday 9th February at 12pm.

As well as providing a brief overview, the webinar will focus on the following issues that are of particular importance to our sector

  • Pay secrecy clauses and changes to workplace rights;
  • Changes to fixed and maximum term contracts;
  • The new supported bargaining stream and the impact it will have for organisations receiving government funding; and
  • Brief overview of the changes in respect to flexible working requests.

The webinar is free for P4P members and there will be a small charge for non-P4P members.

Hedland Collaboration Forum – Final Report

Building on the ‘Growing a Healthy Child in the Pilbara’ project, this forum aimed to inspire and re-invigorate our commitment to growing healthy children in Hedland through strong and effective collaboration. The forum brought together organisations delivering services to families and children in Hedland to hear stories of succesful collaboration in Hedland, identify what assets exist in the community, identify the challenges and barriers that hinder effective collaboration and recommend solutions at the local level to improve collaboration going forward.

This forum report summarises the presentations, group discussions and provides a summary of the strategies for improving collaboration that were discussed and agreed during the forum.

State Commissioning Strategy for Community Services – Information Session

You are invited to an online Information session on the recently launched State Commissioning Strategy for Community Services. This will be held on Wednesday 7th September from 1pm-2pm.
 
This session will help you gain a better understanding of the strategy and what it will mean for your organisation going forward.
 
The session will be facilitated by Steven Hill, Assistant Director Community Services Procurement Policy (Dept Finance). There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the session.
